FLIGHTS TO AND FROM AMSTERDAM AND EINDHOVEN
The main hub for flights to Amsterdam is Schiphol International Airport which is served by most of Europes largest carriers including British Airways, Easy Jet and KLM amongst others. Schipol Airport is Europe's fourth largest and with its close proximity to the city, is ideally placed for access to the central Amsterdam train station and the rest of the Amsterdam public transport system.
Ryanair do not run direct flights to Amsterdam airport but offer alterantive access by way of Eindhoven Airport, with a bus service available to the city centre (120 km):- they also run buses to Eindhoven (8km). No train service is available from this airport.

AMSTERDAM AIRPORT TRANSFER
The first contact that the traveller has with the excellent Amsterdam public transport system is probably the train service that runs at ten minute intervals from platforms One and Two to the Central Amsterdam train station. To avoid paying a 0.50 Euro surcharge, do not get your tickets from the ticket office but use the ticket machines instead.
Tickets cost in the region of 3.60 Euros for a one way journey to the central Amsterdam train station:- this is probably the most convenient and cheapest form of Amsterdam airport transfer available to the city centre. Taxis, trams and buses are conveniently located at the central Amsterdam train station to complete your journey.
Taxi transfer from Schiphol International Airport, can be booked in advance or accessed directly at the airport.The single traveller or party should expect to pay anywhere in the region of 40-60 Euros for a trip to the city centre.
The Amsterdam airport transfer bus service, run by "connexion", runs at ten minute intervals and serves most of the city's largest hotels. A one way ticket costs about 15.50 Euros with a return ticket costing 25.00 Euros. The traveller should check that his hotel is serviced by this bus, and also if the Hotel has a complimentary transfer agreement in place.
